What more dramatic setting can there be for snowshoeing than the Chamonix Valley and the Mont Blanc Region?
We will explore Alpine valleys and climb to mountain plateaux and peaks, to enjoy some of the finest vistas in the Alps. Chalet owner, Oliver Ensor, is a qualified "International Mountain Leader" with 15 years of experience guiding groups around the local mountains. Your comfortable base will be the "Chalet Savoy" in the heart of the Chamonix Valley There is fantastic snowshoeing right on the doorstep easily accessed on foot from the chalet and by easy drives in our comfortable four wheel drive minibus. Every evening you will come home to a welcoming log fire, one of Elaine's legendry home made cakes and a hot tub with one of the finest views in the world!

On our Chamonix Snowshoe-easier weeks no prevoius experience is necessary. IF YOU CAN HIKE, YOU CAN SNOWSHOE. We will show you some amazing winter mountain scenery. The Chamonix Snowshoe - Moderate programme will be at a more relaxed pace than the harder version with lots of photo stops.
Strenuous Grade. 7 nights Chalet Based. 5 guided days. 1 free day.
While the time spent on the mountain every day will be similar, on the Chamonix Snowshoe "easier" week the pace will be faster therefore greater distance will be covered with less frequent and shorter stops and more ascent and descent with maybe up to 900 metre climbs.
Strenuous Grade. 7 nights in the Chalet Savoy. 3 guided days with local mountain leader. 2 days on glaciers led by UAGM mountain guide. 1 day free. The Mont Blanc range boasts some of the wowrld's smost spectacular glaciers. You will be guided on both the "Giant" and the "Mer de Glace" glaciers by a local mountain guide. Although the glacier outings are not techically diffficult, the altitude can make things harder. On the other days you will be led up a selection of the local peaks by a mountain leader.
Strenuous Grade. 6 nights in the Chalet Savoy. 1 night in an Italian refuge. 5 guided days.
The Italians certainly know how do do things in style. You can expect great food, views, comfort and "ambience" at 2,000 metres altitude in this charming mountain refuge named after the famous mountain climber and explorer "Bonatti". We'll climb to a 2,500 metre pass above the refuge and on the other days bag mountain peaks and explore some dramatic plateaux.

Our 2 day snowshoe excursion in the dramatic Swiss Alps will bring us to the famous Great St. Bernard pass, closed in winter to traffic. We'll stay at the famous monastery and explore the surrounding mountains. There will also be some stunning routes to explore during the week in France and possibly Italy.
